As technology around the world develops with the goal of making human life multiplanetary, we recognize our role and are contributing with facilities that can help advance these efforts. The most important factors for human habitability on other planets are appropriate gravity, and suitable temperature. Water, and oxygen are other necessary elements for life, but we can bring those with us. Many planets have already be identified that have similar gravity and temperatures to our own earth, but there is no guarantee there will be oxygen to breathe there.
These facilities we are constructing are designed to completely contain the oxygen necessary for life within, as well as a strong enough protection to avoid leaks and other dangers. In addition to having water and oxygen, earth also generates a magnetic field which protects the planet and life on it from harmful stellar radiation. Our facilities will have to engineer a solution to the potential problem that may arise on planets that don’t have a strong magnetic field.
