Wally Amos’ Famous Amos cookie brand and recipe was purchased by TSG Consumer Partners, then The Shansby Group, in 1988, and has been a revenue generator ever since. It is currently owned by Ferrero SpA. The product is estimated to produce $5 million in revenue each year.
To take advantage of the growing vegan trend, investors were able to acquire the By Chloe chain of restaurants established by celebrity vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli. As part of the deal, investors were able to take ownership of the restaurants and vegan recipes, while changing the name of the business. The chain is now called Beatnic, and is continuing to serve plant based foods, with plans to expand.
